Now, the effect lens is separate with a seal
to provide a better barrier against
condensation, the lens has 6 tabs which line up
to notches in the dress ring and turns on in a
clockwise direction.

Diffuser simply pushes on, no more zip ties. Dual lens comes apart for
cleaning if necessary, turn inner lens clockwise to line up tabs.
Prior to
2007, the diffuser has
4 clips which lock the unit
into place, to remove the cover simply pull down
on the edges. Be sure to lubricate the black seal
before replacing by lining up the clips to the
openings in the ceiling ring and pushing up on the
white part only.
Prior to
1997 the diffuser
3 tabs which turned on in a clockwise
direction, to remove, push up and turn counter-clockwise.
Note:
Before attempting removal, please ensure that the
unit is manufactured by Solatube and the approximate
year it was purchased. The optiview diffuser was not
available until 2001.
