The new Solatube Daylight Dimmer allows the natural lighting level of a room to be turned up or down on demand, providing unprecedented flexibility for daylighting systems in both residential and commercial applications.

"The introduction of the Solatube Daylight Dimmer is a real boon for those interested in natural lighting options but concerned about adaptability issues."

Homeowners now have a new lighting option in areas of the home where extra daylight may be undesirable at certain times, such as in bedrooms, computer/media rooms or common rooms used for overnight guests.

The Solatube Daylight Dimmer is also ideal for use in commercial spaces such as classrooms, conference rooms and even office spaces where room darkening may sometimes be needed, such as for presentations. Additionally, the Solatube Daylight Dimmer allows occupants to simply control the level of lighting based on their individual comfort and preferences.

The new Solatube Daylight Dimmer utilizes a unique butterfly baffle design that is driven by an electric motor inside the Solatube skylight unit. Low-voltage switching occurs from a wall-mounted switch that is wired directly to the Solatube Daylight Dimmer's built-in transformer, allowing the user to adjust the skylight's light output from 100 percent to approximately two percent.

The motor features a built-in universal low-voltage power supply that converts AC line voltage (80-277v at 50-60Hz) to DC (5v). This feature simplifies the installation process by eliminating the guesswork of figuring out the line voltage available in a given installation.

The Solatube Daylight Dimmer option is available with all product sizes, including the 10-, 14- and 21-inch Solatubes and the dimmer comes with an unprecedented five-year warranty.
